STRUCTURED LICENCE VERIFICATION SERVICE
To meet the changes in legislation and to promote best practice, FPS have designed a product to facilitate the burdensome manual task of checking driver licences. Ensuring you are managing your "duty of care" responsibilities as an organisation, comply both with The Health Safety Executive guidelines and the new Corporate Manslaughter Act April 2008. With our product driving licences are checked direct with the DVLA via a three year authority, hence there is no need to hold copies of each licence. The additional benefits of verifying the record direct at source are: • No risk of inaccurate copy licences • Lost licences can still be verified • Revoked licences whereby the driver is not aware and therefore driving illegally • Highlights all current endorsements including banned drivers • Highlights expiring licences • Immediately identify banned drivers • Identifies foreign licence holders with UK endorsements Further to the Corporate Manslaughter Act April 2008 it has now raised the profile, therefore the need for all employers to regularly check all licences at least annually and have a system that can be audited. Furthermore, high risk drivers should have their licence checked on a more frequent basis to the standard annual check. Information held on our database may also prove beneficial in assisting your business with it's:
• Motor insurance renewal – as you will then be able to supply to your insurers a current report on all categories of authorised drivers to be covered. We can also supply you with an accurate driver age / penalty points profile. • Identification of drivers who may need driver training. • Accident Management – this data could be directly linked to your accident reporting process, checking that the driver making the claim has been authorised to drive.
